Welcome
Thank you for being here.
Counselling (or therapy, as it is also known) can be a powerful and transforming experience, accessed at any point of life, whether you feel at your lowest or simply want to understand yourself a little better. Simply looking into therapeutic options can be the beginning of a personal journey and I am glad you are here.
What is counselling?
Counselling offers a regular space, separate from the 'busyness' of life, to reflect on what is happening for you, consider what you want and need, and how to move towards that. The relationship between the counsellor and client is also a key part of the therapeutic process and I will gently guide, question and support you.
People access therapy for all sorts of reasons, but perhaps some in the list resonate with you:
-
Depression and a feeling of flatness or hopelessness
-
Coping with uncertainty and change
-
Personal growth and development
-
Navigating relationships
-
Feelings of anxiety (general, social, physical)
-
Coping with stress
-
Breaking unhelpful patterns of behaviour (e.g. people pleasing)
-
A sense of changing identity
-
Grief and loss (of a person, a time, an identity, etc)
-
Connecting with yourself and developing a sense of self/self-esteem
One of the ideas underlying my practice is the concept of Physis: an innate motivation towards growth found in all living organisms, including human beings
I believe everyone has the innate capacity for growth, development and healing, and if you are ready to begin then I look forward to being a part of your journey.
